Here’s a list of Frequently Asked Questions
regarding the 90 Days of Mission. We trust you will find
the answer you are looking for, however if not, please Contact
Us (link to Contact Us page) with your questions and we will
endeavour to get an answer to you.
Is the
Certificate III in Youth and Community Work (Christian) course
Austudy Approved?
Yes.
Fusion Australia is a Registered Training Organisation
(RTO) with the Australian Government and the Certificate III
training offered as part of the 90 Days of Mission is
nationally accredited and Austudy Approved. The National
Course Code is 69864.
How much does the 90 Days of Mission
cost?
The cost in Australian Dollars is $1650. This includes $120 per
week for the 12 weeks to cover food, accommodation and
training. Plus
$120 for the week long Foundations course in Poatina and $90
for the flight from Launceston to Melbourne on Feb
17.
Is the 90
Days of Mission just for young people?
No. We
have people who have applied and who are coming from around
the world and who range in age from 16 through to 50. It is youth and
community training and is open to all ages of people who just
want to make a difference in their
communities.
I can’t
commit to the whole 90 Days but am interested in the Short
School of Mission from March 11 to 27th. What is this
about?
Fusion will be running a two week Short School of
Mission from Saturday March 11 to Monday March 27th
which will include 3 days of practical skills training to
build the ‘open crowd’ such as living statues, balloon
sculpting, clowning etc. The day before the Commonwealth Games
start on March 15th, Fusion International will be
joining together with Quest More than Gold, OM, YWAM and other
mission teams to share together, pray and ensure we are
working together.
During the 10 days of the Commonwealth Games, Fusion
and the Awakening movement will be supporting churches and
communities across Victoria to run ‘Open Crowd’ festivals that
welcome everyone in a community. These might include
Opening and Closing Night Festivals were the Opening and
Closing Night ceremony is watched on big screens. There will also be
festivals held throughout the duration of the games which we
will help run.
For more information on this option, registerand indicate your interest
in the Short School of Mission.
Will students get to see some Commonwealth Games events
in person?
Yes.
Students will be able to see at least one event during
their time in Victoria.
However it is probably good to remember that the 90
Days of Mission is an Intensive Missions Training experience
so if seeing the Games is your main focus then maybe the 90
Days isn’t for you just yet!
What about getting to
Tasmania?
The flights to get to Launceston, Tasmania for
orientation on 19 January are the responsibility of the
student as well as the flights required to return home on 18
April. A comparison of cheap domestic flights in Australia can
be found at www.webjet.com.au. For international students we would recommend you
research and book flights from your country to Melbourne, and
then use www.webjet.com.au
for the Melbourne to Launceston flight. If you have any
trouble with this then let us know and we can help with
researching bookings.
What is the Foundations Course
about?
Foundations is a course that will open the doorway to
an integrated lifestyle that will enable you to be more aware
of the world around you and of God’s companionship with you in
it. It is part of the 90 Days of Mission for several reasons,
one of which is that it gives students a shared framework from
which to work together over the duration of the 90
days.
What is the Uluru Pilgrimage option
about?
This is an opportunity to journey with hundreds of
people from across Australia who join in the annual Pilgrimage
to the red centre of Australia. You will learn about
aboriginal culture, appreciate Australia like you never have
before and start to understand yourself in new ways. This
option at the end of the 90 Days of Mission is a profound way
to extend what will be a life changing 3 months. If you’re interested
in checking out the pilgrimage from past years then go to www.schoolsinharmony.org.
I’m applying from overseas. What visa do I need to
apply for, and what can I be doing now to help speed up
the visa application process?
Our
understanding is that a visitors visa (subclass 676) is the
most appropriate visa to apply for as there is provision with
this visa for up to 3 months of study. If you are from
overseas then please register
and we can send you the most up to date information or Contact Us us for the latest
information.
